Fota ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered travel photo generation app. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, with a special focus on face and body data.

1. Face & Body Data Collection

What we collect

The app collects the following photo data, uploaded voluntarily by the user through the system photo picker:

Selfie photos (up to 2) — containing facial features and appearance
Full-body photos (up to 2) — containing body proportions and appearance

Photos are selected manually by the user via the standard iOS PhotosPicker. The app does not access the camera directly and does not capture photos automatically.

2. How We Use Face & Body Data

Your photos are used exclusively for one purpose: generating AI travel photos that preserve your appearance in images of world landmarks and cities.

Important clarifications

We do not perform facial recognition or biometric identification
We do not create facial templates, embeddings, or biometric profiles
We do not use face data for authentication or identification purposes
We do not analyze facial expressions or emotions
Your photos are used solely as visual reference for AI image generation

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

4. Data Storage

Local storage only

All user photos and generated images are stored exclusively on your device in the app's local storage directory. We do not upload or store your photos on any server or cloud storage.

User photos — stored locally in the app sandbox (Documents/UserPhotos/)
Generated images — stored locally in the app sandbox and optionally saved to your device's photo gallery

When photos are sent to Firebase Vertex AI for generation, they are transmitted securely (HTTPS) and processed in memory. Google does not retain the photos after processing is complete, in accordance with Vertex AI data governance policies.

5. Data Retention

On your device: Photos and generated images remain on your device until you manually delete them through the app's Profile screen, or until the app is uninstalled.
On Google servers: Photos sent for AI processing are not stored after the generation request is completed. No persistent copies are made.
RevenueCat: Anonymous purchase records are retained as required for transaction history and refund support.

6. Data Deletion

How to delete your data

Delete individual photos: Open Profile → tap the × button on any selfie or full-body photo to remove it
Delete generated images: Tap any generated image → tap Delete
Delete all data: Uninstall the app. This permanently removes all photos, generated images, and local settings from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

Fota is not intended for use by children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
